Your Hosts
Robin and Louise met whilst both
travelling independently around New
Zealand in 2002.
When they returned to the UK, they visited Mull
on holiday with Robin, having spent many a childhood holiday on the Scottish
Isle, promising it matched the spectacular scenery of the place they met and
fell in love with. After marrying in Tobermory
in 2004, they moved to the island and bought the Harbour Guest House.
Robin has taken up
woodturning since moving to Mull and produces
wooden bowls and other decorative pieces, retailing these under the company
name Turned Out Timber all over the island, including a small range at the
guest house.
In their spare time they are both keen walkers and
photographers but their favourite way to spend any free time is to travel; having enjoyed wildlife
and camping safaris all over Africa as well as visits to Costa Rica and
Indonesia in recent years.
In 2011, they also set up , a shop selling traditional sweets weighed out in the old-fashioned
paper bags, as well as a range of gifts, ice cream and drinks. The shop is at Ledaig Car Park in Tobermory,
just across the road from the Guest House
Running both the shop and
guest house has meant that an extra pair of hands is now required and so Inita joined Robin and Louise at Harbour Guest House as housekeeper and helps to look after the guests.
Originally from Latvia,
she has lived on Mull for over two years,
making it her second home. In her spare time she likes to go walking but her
passion is her art and exploring her creative side. She
is qualified in design and this talent of
hers has helped to create window displays for the Sugar Rush sweet shop
in addition to her work at the guest house. She is also starting
a business of her own which she will be launching with her partner
later in the year

"The
best part of running a Guest House on Mull is getting to meet lots of
different people and sharing this beautiful island with them.
Many fall in love with Mull as much as we have and return to stay
with us year on year, the best compliment anyone can pay us"
